Наверное, хорошая вещь могла бы получиться, но общее впечатление как от недописанного наброска к более обстоятельной работе. Возможно, добавилось бы ещё объёма и стиль попричесать — и получилась бы интересная в своей недосказанности история. Потому что сама по себя идея с чем-то усыплённым хороша.
